You get your choice from five sandwiches on a bun: Pork, Beef, Turkey, Sausage or Smoked Chix Salad.

And to round out your meal you get to choose two of the following sides: Freedom Fries, Smitty Beans, Smitty Slaw, Uncle David’s Green Beans, Brunswick Stew, Aunt Bea’s Potato Salad, Fried Up Corn On The Cob, Daisy’s Fried Okra or Sweet Potato Souffle.

Celebrating Jack Smith!

We celebrate heroes at home and abroad every day here at Smittys, and we recently turned out attention to one of our own: the original.

Jack Smith, the founder/original owner/mentor and true great American was honored by us recently for everything he does for us. For all his years of service in the U.S. Military and everything he’s done to make Smitty’s what it is, we presented Jack with a Smitty’s Manager’s Shirt and bestowed the title of “Grand Exalted American”. Plus he eats here free for life!

Dine United At Smittys on September 4th

On September 4, 2008 Smittys (along with other participating restaurants) will donate a portion of their proceeds to the 2008 United Way Campaign with ‘Dine United‘. The money contributed will be used to assist the elderly, children and others in need in our community. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a nice meal with your family and help your community at the same time. Why not take the kids to breakfast before school, join a friend or co-worker for lunch, or treat the family to dinner, it’s all for a great cause.

Bob Graham visits

Earlier this year we welcomed former Florida governor and senator Bob Graham into Smitty’s. This isn’t Mr. Graham’s first visit, but we’re glad every time he comes in when he’s down this way. After retiring from the Senate in 2003 he’s been doing alot of work at the University of Florida on the newly established Bob Graham Center for Public Service. Smitty’s Salutes Servicemen & Women!

Every day since day one, Smitty’s Barbecue & Salad Bar has been a proud supporter of the men and women of the United States Military. Going back to our founder Jack “Smitty” Smith’s roots in service to today, we wear our pride on our sleeves — and on our walls, with one of the largest collections of aviation memorabilia in the southeast.

We’re glad to see everyone come in the door, but we’re extra delighted to see the servicemen and women of our Armed Forces when they give us the privilege of serving them. We always give military a discount when eating here, and welcome them with open arms. Those Great Americans deserve some Great American Barbecue!
